Furled spears, juvenile leaves and seedlings: the plant before the leaf everyone photographs.

Young plants grow from mulch beneath tall bamboo culms. Rows of tightly packed pale green succulent rosettes fill the frame. Dense parallel rows of succulent rosettes create a geometric composition.
