A broad Copenhagen street with cable-car gondolas strung overhead on wires, the city hall tower and ornate facades along the far side. A cafe breakfast on a wooden table — muesli in a glass, cheese and cold cuts on a white plate, grapefruit and passion fruit, and a cup of coffee. A cobbled Copenhagen square with a fountain, market stalls and cafe awnings along a terrace of tall brick and stucco buildings. Rosenborg Castle with its green copper spires seen across the clipped lawns and hedges of the King's Garden. A formal rose garden of low clipped hedges around a weathered green bronze statue, tiled roofs of surrounding buildings behind. A close view of an old brick wall, the bricks varying from orange to near-black between pale mortar joints. A gravel path running beside a building whose facade is completely covered in ivy, its white window frames showing through. An open sandwich of cured salmon on dark rye with dollops of green puree and red-veined sorrel leaves, on a pale plate. The white Moorish-style pavilion at Tivoli with its green onion domes, seen across a fountain pool and flower beds. The Star Flyer swing tower at Tivoli seen from directly below, riders suspended on chains far above against a pale sky. A row of brightly lit game stalls at Tivoli, people queueing along a curved arcade under strings of bulbs. A vintage fairground ride with painted faces and clock dials on its cars, under an ornate illuminated canopy. A tree-lined avenue through Tivoli strung with arches of lights, cafe tables and pavilions along one side. An empty bumper car rink lit in saturated pink and orange, the cars parked in rows across the floor. A fairground ride with a green domed tower at its centre, roller coaster track and pavilions rising behind it. Rows of red Chinese lanterns strung beneath a ride at Tivoli, with dragon signage and painted panels behind. The top of the Star Flyer tower at Tivoli against a pale evening sky, framed by dark leaves. Tivoli's lake at dusk with the Chinese pagoda and roller coaster track reflected in it, purple flowers along the near bank. The Moorish pavilion at Tivoli outlined in hundreds of bulbs at dusk, its lawn and reflecting pool in front. A pub plate of grilled sausage with pickled red cabbage, a bread roll and a basket of chips, a beer glass at the edge of the frame. A marble portrait bust of a bearded man in a red-walled gallery, rows of classical statues receding behind it. A pale marble sculpture of a veiled figure standing over a reclining nude, lit dramatically against a black background. A marble group of a young man holding a severed head, another face visible behind his shoulder, lit warmly in a dark gallery. A muscular marble figure crouched on a rock with his arms bound in rope, seen from behind in a dim gallery. A plaster equestrian statue seen close from below, the horse's bridled head and the rider's arm against a vaulted gallery ceiling. A close view of a folded paper or textile structure of small triangular facets stitched together into an irregular honeycomb. A bright red disc-shaped side table on a plinth in a design gallery, chairs and displays behind it. An avenue of clipped trees along a gravel path through a Copenhagen park, fallen yellow leaves across the grass and low pale barracks buildings behind. The Nyhavn canal under a grey sky, wooden sailing boats moored along the quay in front of a terrace of narrow red, yellow and ochre townhouses. A restaurant dish of salmon rolls, radish and lemon wedges arranged over dark stones in a shallow bowl. A plated course buried under a mound of microgreens and green oil on a pale ceramic plate. A bowl of crumbled white curd set inside a second dish packed with green herbs, on a wooden table. A round tart with a torched orange top sitting in a ridged ceramic bowl, garnished with beetroot and peas. A breakfast of granola, strawberries and blueberries in a dark bowl, with a plate of cut melon and berries beside it. A plate of soft-boiled eggs with avocado, herbs and shards of crispbread standing upright in it. Red damask fabric printed with the Danish coat of arms, three lions and hearts inside a scrolled medallion. A coffered ceiling of repeating square panels, each with a gilded rosette at its centre. A historic palace kitchen with whitewashed vaulted ceilings, rows of copper pans on the walls and a flagstone floor. Christiansborg Palace behind a bronze equestrian statue on a stone plinth, under a bright sky with scattered cloud. A detailed architectural model built from yellow LEGO bricks, stepped like a terraced housing block and planted with small green trees. The BLOX building on the Copenhagen waterfront, a glass and dark-panelled block above a flight of wide public steps where people are sitting. Virginia creeper turning red and gold across a brick wall beside a tall arched window, with a green street lamp and parked bicycles below. A red-brick museum building with twin towers and a decorated gable, seen across a sunlit public garden with a reflecting pool. Ivy climbing the corner of an old brick building, seen from below against a bright sky. A hot dog held in one hand over cobblestones, loaded with pickled cucumber, crisp fried onion and remoulade. An abstract bronze sculpture of rounded interlocking forms on a stone plinth in a cobbled courtyard, an ivy-covered building with a red tile roof behind. A darkened gallery looking out through a full-height window onto willows and water, thin standing figure sculptures silhouetted against the light. A close view of a white architectural relief of repeating stepped blocks receding into shadow. A museum display of dozens of prosthetic legs in wood, leather and metal, arranged in a dense circle. An installation of glowing pink and magenta blossom-shaped lamps suspended in a dark room. Large marbled stone spheres set out across a sunlit lawn in a sculpture garden, trees and a low gallery building behind. A view out through a frame of dark tree branches onto a bright misty lawn. A long red-brick building with a red tiled roof behind a mown lawn and a weeping willow, under a clear blue sky. A wide cobbled square in front of a red-brick civic building with a green spire and clock, under heavy grey cloud. Frederiksborg Castle seen across the lake, its copper-green spires above the treeline, bare seedheads in the foreground. A row of large woven torus sculptures in orange and pink hung along a gallery wall, each one a spiral of fine cane. Frederiksborg Castle above its formal baroque garden, low box hedges laid out in scrolling parterres in the foreground. A spike of deep purple monkshood flowers in close focus, the castle and its gardens thrown out of focus behind. A black cannon on a red carriage on a leaf-strewn lawn, with a dark-capped windmill on a red base behind it. A still canal reflecting trees, a red-brick mansion visible through the foliage and rosehips along the near bank. Clusters of small purple verbena flowers in close focus against a soft green background. A five-storey red-brick apartment building on a corner, its windows picked out in white stone, cars parked along the street below. A gravel path under autumn trees running beside a lake, a cyclist passing and apartment buildings on the far shore. Two small cakes on a white plate with a black fork — a pink meringue-topped tart and a chocolate-glazed one — on a pale wooden table. A warmly lit cafe corner with a bare bulb hanging over a counter, menus clipped to a rail on the wall and low stools pulled up.
