Looked for: GPS coordinates, camera make and model, date taken, software. Removal is not limited to those — every metadata block goes. Keeping the original format rewrites JPEG and PNG segment by segment, without decoding the picture, so nothing is lost; changing format, or a photograph rotated by its orientation tag, needs a re-encode, and re-encoding a JPEG is lossy at any quality.
