A purple water lily open above its floating leaves, its centre a dense yellow crown of stamens. A black long-haired dog wearing a lei of pink and orange flowers, standing on a gravel track with its mouth open. A stand of thick bamboo culms leaning across the frame, their jointed stems mottled with moss. Yellow starfruit hanging from a branch among bright green leaves. The sun setting into a bank of dark cloud over a wide coastal plain, the sky orange along the horizon. A flat sea of white cloud seen from above, lit pale blue, with clear sky beyond. A silversword growing on red volcanic cinder, its dense rosette of narrow silver leaves radiating from the centre. Jagged blocks of dark lava in the foreground with the eroded red and grey slopes of a crater rising behind. A bright green gold-dust day gecko clinging to a black pipe strapped to a weathered yellow post. A surfer riding inside the curl of a large breaking wave, another paddling over the shoulder behind. Cracked dried mud with tufts of grass pushing up through the fissures. A clean set of waves peeling along a reef under an overcast sky, seen over green scrub in the foreground. A line of wind turbines along a bare ridge above the sea, rain cloud low over the water. Surf breaking white along a rugged lava coastline, deep blue ocean beyond and dry scrubland in the foreground. A white open-top Jeep parked on the verge of a narrow road cut through thick roadside vegetation. A dense star field filling the frame above a black horizon, the Milky Way faintly visible. A parked truck silhouetted under a dense field of stars, the horizon a faint dark ridge. Beach morning glory trailing across wet sand at the tide line, its round green leaves and reddish stems against the ripples. The flat-topped crescent of Molokini crater sitting on the horizon, with dolphin fins breaking the calm water in the foreground. A small turquoise wave curling over and breaking onto coarse golden sand. A red paraglider canopy over a patchwork of fields far below, launched from a grassy ridge in the foreground.
